Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) is studying a possible cyber-attack on President Salome Zurabishvili’s Twitter account.

“In case the signs of the crime are detected, an investigation will be launched”, the Ministry stated.

On April 29 Zurabishvili’s official Twitter account shared the post of the United States President Donald Trump where he mocks former Democrat US Vice President Joe Biden, who is taking part in the Presidential elections 2020.

“Sleepy Joe Biden is having his first rally in the Great State of Pennsylvania. He obviously doesn’t know that Pennsylvania is having one of the best economic years in its history, with lowest unemployment EVER, a now thriving Steel Industry (that was dead) & great future!” Trump’s tweet reads.

The retweet was deleted after an hour and the Presidential Administration made an explanation over the issue.

Press-Speaker Khatia Moistsrapishvili said it might have been technical misconduct made by the social networks manager but she did not rule out the possibility of cyber-attack.
